ABOUT
PROGRAM INVOLVEMENT
Following an opening three-day retreat in early October 2020, the project will host four on-campus gatherings designed to nourish relationships among the cohort while equipping worship leaders to think biblically, theologically, historically, and pastorally about worship renewal in their own context. These day-long, Saturday sessions will be led by SPU’s music, visual arts, and theology faculty, and will welcome keynote artists and speakers. Participants will walk through the program in small groups designed to help students cultivate relationships and learn from one another other. The project concludes in June of 2021.
PARTICIPANTS
Churches who are accepted into the project will select three high school students and two adults to participate in the year-long program.
ARTISTS
While we anticipate that musicians will participate in the project, we believe that worship is so much more than music, and that students can use a wide array of talents in the worshipping life of their church. The visual arts, dance, drama, hospitality and media technology can all serve the church at worship.
CHURCHES
We are committed to selecting a diverse array of Christian congregations who are eager to explore how worship might reflect the beautiful vision of Revelation 7—one in which “every nation, tribe, people and language” is united in worship of the Triune God.
FUNDING
The entire cost of the year-long project is fully funded through a generous grant. Churches are asked to apply to the project and are expected to participate in each of the gatherings.
